Abstract Flos Sophorae (FS) is medicinal and edible, while fresh FS is highly perishable. Thus, this study investigated the effects of different drying methods (hot air drying, HAD; vacuum drying, VD; freeze drying, FD) after steaming on the bioactive components and sensory quality of FS. The results indicated steaming for 1 min maximally retained the contents of total flavonoids, rutin, and quercetin in thermal drying (HAD and VD), meanwhile, the freeze-dried FS without steaming also had higher total flavonoids and rutin contents. Moreover, FD samples had the highest protein content and organoleptic properties, with closer color parameters to fresh FS, followed by the VD group. Considering comprehensively all data with processing cost, the sample of VD after steaming for 1 min was chosen to measure the antioxidant activity, which showed that FS extract was superior to Vc in ABTS• and •OH scavenging rates, and its DPPH• scavenging rate was stronger than Vc in the low concentration. These results demonstrated that vacuum drying after steaming for 1 min was suitable postharvest processing for fresh FS, which was beneficial to maintaining higher flavonoids, rutin, and sensory characteristics of FS, and its flavonoid extract had better antioxidant activity than Vc.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Lower body perfusion (LBP) is a technique used to provide blood perfusion to distal organs and spinal cord during circulatory arrest. However, the effect of LBP on the prognosis of aortic arch surgery, especially on postoperative renal function, remains unclear. Methods: A total of 304 patients with acute type A aortic dissection who underwent total aortic arch replacement combined with frozen elephant trunk implantation between May 2016 and December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into LBP group (group L, n=85) and non-LBP group (group NL, n=219). Routine lower body circulatory arrest was applied during operation in group NL, and antegrade LBP combined was applied during operation in group L. Perioperative data were recorded. Propensity score matching was used for statistical analysis. Results: After propensity score matching, 85 pairs of patients were successfully matched. Two groups significantly differed in circulatory arrest time (six minutes vs. 30 minutes, P=0.000), cross-clamping time (101 minutes vs. 92 minutes, P=0.010), minimum nasopharyngeal temperature (29.4ºC vs. 27.2ºC, P=0.000), and highest lactate value during cardiopulmonary bypass (2.3 μmol/L vs. 4.1 μmol/L, P=0.000). Considering the postoperative indicators, the drainage volume (450 mL vs. 775 mL, P=0.000) and the incidence of level I acute kidney injury (23.5% vs. 32%, P=0.046) in group L was lower than those in group NL. Conclusion: LBP resulted as a safe and feasible approach in aortic arch surgery, as it could significantly shorten the circulatory arrest time, which might reduce the incidence of postoperative level I acute kidney injury.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Chinese sports dance has occupied a prominent place worldwide due to its rapid development and the exchange between countries has gradually increased, requiring studies on the improvement in the training of these athletes. Objective: Study the particular characteristics of physical fitness and its insertion methods in the training of sport dancers. Methods: The author used the method of literature data, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics to take the students specializing in sports dance in the School of Physical Education as research volunteers, performing a series of fitness index tests to check the most relevant characteristics to the fitness of their training. Results: The body shape training and special strength training, including special flexibility training is organized according to the demand standards. As for the physical training specific to dancers, the basic ballet training reaches 32 exercises, the strength training of the costal muscles, waist and abdomen 32 exercises, and the flexibility of the groin and legs 25 exercises, the latter being the key quality content for athletes. Conclusion: In-depth investigations and research are constantly being conducted into the content of special fitness training for students specializing in sports dance, and the factors influencing the particular fitness training have the potential to most effectively promote the development of sports dance. Resumen Introducción: La danza deportiva china ha ocupado un lugar destacado en todo el mundo por su rápido desarrollo y el intercambio entre países ha aumentado gradualmente, lo que exige estudios sobre la mejora en la formación de estos atletas. Objetivo: Estudiar las características particulares de la aptitud física y sus métodos de inserción en el entrenamiento de los bailarines deportivos. Métodos: El autor utilizó el método de datos bibliográficos, encuesta por cuestionario y estadística matemática para tomar a los alumnos especializados en danza deportiva de la Escuela de Educación Física como voluntarios de la investigación, realizando una serie de pruebas de índice de aptitud física para comprobar las características más relevantes para la aptitud de su entrenamiento. Resultados: El entrenamiento de la forma del cuerpo y el entrenamiento especial de la fuerza, incluido el entrenamiento especial de la flexibilidad, se organizan de acuerdo con las normas de la demanda. En cuanto a la formación física específica de los bailarines, el entrenamiento básico de ballet alcanza los 32 ejercicios, el entrenamiento de la fuerza de los músculos costales, la cintura y el abdomen 32 ejercicios, y la flexibilidad de la ingle y las piernas 25 ejercicios, siendo este último el contenido de calidad clave para los atletas. Conclusión: Se están actualizando constantemente las investigaciones y los estudios sobre el contenido de la preparación física especial para los estudiantes que se especializan en la danza deportiva y los factores que influyen en la preparación física particular tienen el potencial de promover el desarrollo de la danza deportiva con mayor eficacia. RESUMO Introdução: A dança esportiva chinesa tem ocupado um lugar de destaque mundial pelo seu rápido desenvolvimento e o intercâmbio entre países tem aumentado gradualmente, exigindo estudos sobre o aprimoramento no treino desses atletas. Objetivo: Estudar as características particulares de aptidão física e os seus métodos de inserção no treinamento dos dançarinos esportivos. Métodos: O autor utilizou o método de dados da literatura, levantamento de questionários e estatísticas matemáticas para levar os estudantes especializados em dança esportiva na Escola de Educação Física como voluntários de pesquisa, realizando uma série de testes de índice de aptidão física para verificar as características mais relevantes à aptidão física de seu treinamento. Resultados: O treinamento de forma corporal e o treinamento de força especial, incluindo o treinamento de flexibilidade especial e organizado conforme os padrões de exigência. Quanto ao treinamento físico específico aos dançarinos, o treinamento básico do balé atinge 32 exercícios, o treinamento de força da musculatura costal, cintura e abdômen 32 exercícios, e a flexibilidade da virilha e pernas 25 exercícios, sendo estes últimos o conteúdo chave de qualidade aos atletas. Conclusão: Investigações e pesquisas aprofundadas estão em constante atualização sobre o conteúdo do treinamento especial de aptidão física para estudantes especializados em dança esportiva e os fatores que influenciam o treinamento particular de aptidão física tem o potencial de promoverem de forma mais eficaz o desenvolvimento da dança esportiva. Abstract Objective The authors investigated the expression of IgG4 and IgG in cutaneous Rosai-Dorfman Disease (CRDD) to further improve the understanding of this disease. Methods The authors retrospectively reviewed the clinicopathological features of 23 CRDD patients. The authors diagnosed CRDD by the presence of emperipolesis and immunohistochemical (IHC) staining of histiocytes consisting of S-100(+)/CD68(+)/CD1a(-) cells. The expressions of IgG and IgG4 in cutaneous specimens were assessed by IHC (EnVision) and quantitatively calculated by a medical image analysis system. Results All 23 patients, including 14 males and 9 females, were confirmed to have CRDD. Their ages ranged from 17 to 68 years (mean 47.91 ± 14.16). The most frequently affected skin regions were the face, followed by the trunk, ears, neck, limbs, and genitals. In 16 of these cases, the disease presented as a single lesion. IHC staining of sections showed that IgG was positive (≥ 10 cells/High-Power Field [HPF]) in 22 cases, while IgG4 was positive (≥ 10 cells/HPF) in 18 cases. Moreover, the IgG4/IgG proportion ranged from 1.7% to 85.7% (mean 29.50 ± 24.67%, median 18.4%) in the 18 cases. Study limitations In the majority of studies, as well as in the current study, the design. RDD is a rare disease, so the sample size is small. In the next studies to come, the authors will expand the sample for multi-center verification and in-depth study. Conclusion The positive rates of IgG4 and IgG and the IgG4/IgG ratio assessed through IHC staining may be important in understanding the pathogenesis of CRDD.

A kind of corrosion-resistant Ni-Mo-P composite coating was deposited on the surface of AZ91D magnesium alloy substrate by electroless plating method with different concentration of Ce(NO3)3 and Nd(NO3)3. The deposition mechanism of Ni-Mo-P composite coating was explored. Furthermore, the effects of Ce(NO3)3 and Nd(NO3)3 concentration on the microstructure and properties of Ni-Mo-P composite coatings were studied. Results indicated that the Ni-Mo-P composite coatings prepared by adding the optimal concentration of Ce(NO3)3 and Nd(NO3)3 had few defects. Meanwhile, the deposition rate of the composite coatings and the adhesion between the coating and the magnesium alloy substrate were improved. When the concentration of Ce(NO3)3 and Nd(NO3)3 were 0.10 and 1.00 g/L, the Ni-Mo-P composite coatings had the minimum corrosion rate of 0.826 and 0.681 g/m2·h, respectively. Herein, compared with the addition of Ce(NO3)3, the Nd(NO3)3 added Ni-Mo-P composite coating has the maximum arc radius of capacitive resistance and significant improvement corrosion resistance.

Abstract Owing to the high mineralization and high treatment cost, Ordovician limestone water is often regarded as a mine wastewater. In order to make rational use of mine water with high mineralization and turn waste into treasure. In this work, the natural water quality of Ordovician mine water in the Weibei coalfield had been tested, and the suspended matter and trace elements of Ordovician mine water in the selected deep detained area had been further tested. As a contrast, the water quality of Ordovician mine water after heating and concentration had been tested. The mechanical and hydraulic parameters of concentrated mine water-loess and concentrated mine water-cement slurry had been tested and compared with conventional slurry. The results showed characteristics of deep detained Ordovician limestone mine water is high salinity, certain suspended matters, limited special material and high permanent hardness. However, compressive strength of loess samples increased, while the permeability reduced. The initial setting-time of the modified material was short, while it showed an increased compressive strength. In practical terms, the quantity of grouting produced in engineering applications can be reduced by 16%, whereas the discharge of high-mineralized mine water can be decreased by about 40,000 m3/a.

RESUMO Pholiota adiposa é um cogumelo com excelentes propriedades nutricionais e medicinais. No entanto, o rendimento do corpo de frutificação deste é baixo e o potencial de cultivo comercial deste fungo é limitado. 279 linhagens cruzadas foram obtidas pelo cruzamento mono-mono de linhagens monocarióticas derivadas de P. adiposa HS5 e HS4. Enzimas ligninolíticas e taxas de crescimento micelial foram utilizadas como marcadores para a triagem das linhagens cruzadas, e 18 linhagens foram seleccionadas para análise posterior. A linhagem cruzada A10B4 apresentou o maior rendimento (ie 165,91 ± 12,56 g por sacola), o qual 31,34 g e, 74,48 g a mais do que as linhagens HS5 e HS4, respetivamente. O tempo de colonização micelial de A10B4 foi 25,18 ± 1,33 d, sendo 5,64 d menor que HS5. A10B4 foi caracterizado, por marcadores moleculares de repetição de sequência inter-simples. Foram observadas diferenças nos produtos de PCR de linhagens parentais e cruzadas. Portanto, a linhagem híbrida recém-desenvolvida A10B4 (Renominada P. adiposa HS54), exibindo alto rendimento, pode ser adequada para cultivo comercial.

ABSTRACT Pholiota adiposa is a mushroom with excellent nutritional and medicinal properties. However, fruiting body yields are low, and the commercial cultivation potential of this fungus is limited. Here, 279 crossbred strains were obtained by the mono-mono crossing of monokaryotic strains derived from P. adiposa HS5 and HS4. Laccase enzymes and mycelial growth rates were used as markers to screen the crossbred strains, and 18 strains were selected for further analysis. Crossbred strain A10B4 displayed the highest yield (i.e. 165.91 ± 12.56 g per bag), which was 31.34 g and 74.48 g more than that of strains HS5 and HS4, respectively. The mycelial colonization time of A10B4 was 25.18 ± 1.33 d, which was 5.64 d shorter than that of HS5. A10B4 was characterized by inter-simple sequence repeat molecular markers. Differences in PCR products from parental and crossbred strains were observed. Therefore, the newly developed hybrid strain A10B4, named P. adiposa HS54 exhibiting high yield, might be suitable for commercial cultivation.

Abstract Ni-W-P ternary coating was successfully deposited on AZ91D magnesium alloy by electroless plating with low energy consumption. The effect of Na2WO4 concentration on the microstructure, deposition rate, corrosion behavior, adhesion force, porosity test and micro-hardness of Ni-W-P ternary coatings were evaluated. Results reveal that when the concentration of Na2WO4 is 15 g/L in the plating solution, the coating with the average thickness of 17 μm is uniform and dense, and the content of phosphorus and tungsten reached 9.63 wt.% and 1.14 wt.% respectively, which presents amorphous structure. Meanwhile, when the concentration of Na2WO4 is 15 g/L, the amorphous Ni-W-P ternary coating has the best corrosion resistance, among which Ecorr is -0.326 V, Icorr is 0.003 A/cm2 in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. In addition, the mechanisms of corrosion resistance for the substrate and the coating were exploded.

Abstract Ni-Co-Al2O3-MoS2 composite coatings were prepared on the surface of LY12 aluminum alloys by electrophoresis-electrodeposition with different MoS2 concentrations. The microstructure, morphologies and composition of Ni-Co-Al2O3-MoS2 composites were characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive spectroscope (EDS). The micro-indentation hardness as well as friction and tribological properties of the coatings were tested by micro-hardness tester and friction and wear tester separately. Results revealed that the composite coating fabricated at 1.0 g⋅L-1 MoS2 achieved dense structure, and the average thickness of the coating was 39.820 µm. The micro-indentation hardness of the composite coating was decreased from 578 HV to 465 HV with the increase of MoS2 concentration. Also, the composite coating synthesized at 1.0 g·L-1 MoS2 had the lowest friction coefficient and wear rate.

Abstract: The abnormal increase in proliferation rate of human periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) is considered to be involved in the pathogenesis of periodontitis, a disease in which the IL-10-mediated anti-inflammatory pathway plays a critical role. This study aimed to investigate the involvement of microRNA-466l in periodontitis and to explore the possible interaction between IL-10 and microRNA-466l. PDLSCs were obtained from periodontitis-affected teeth and healthy control teeth. The expression of microRNA-466l and IL-10 mRNA was measured in PDLSCs using RT-qPCR. The proliferation ability of PDLSCs was analyzed using CCK-8 assays. Overexpression of microRNA-466l in a PDLSC cell line was established using two different types of PDLSCs, and the effect of microRNA-466l overexpression on IL-10 expression and cell proliferation were detected by western blot and CCK-8 assays, respectively. We found that expression levels of microRNA-466l and IL-10 mRNA were significantly lower (P < 0.05) in PDLSCs derived from periodontitis-affected teeth compared to those derived from healthy teeth. However, the cell proliferation ability was significantly higher in the PDLSCs derived from periodontitis-affected teeth. Meanwhile microRNA-466l overexpression decreased cell proliferation rates of both types of PDLSCs and upregulated IL-10 expression. Together, these data suggest that microRNA-466l can upregulate IL-10 and reduce the proliferation rate of PDLSCs.

Resumo Introdução: O Abscesso Peritonsilar é a infecção cervical profunda mais comum. O microrganismo infeccioso pode ser diferente de acordo com os fatores clínicos. Objetivo: Identificar o principal agente causador do abscesso peritonsilar e investigar a relação entre o patógeno causador, os fatores clínicos do hospedeiro e a duração da hospitalização. Método: Este estudo retrospectivo incluiu 415 pacientes hospitalizados diagnosticados com abscesso peritonsilar que foram internados em um centro médico terciário de junho de 1990 a junho de 2013. Coletamos dados através da análise dos arquivos médicos dos pacientes e analisamos variáveis como características demográficas, doença sistêmica subjacente, tabagismo, alcoolismo, hábito de mascar noz de betel, bacteriologia e duração da hospitalização. Resultados: Um total de 168 pacientes apresentaram resultados positivos para isolamento de patógenos. Streptococcus viridans (28,57%) e Klebsiella pneumoniae (23,21%) foram os microrganismos mais comuns identificados pela cultura da secreção. A taxa de isolamento de anaeróbios aumentou para 49,35% nos últimos 6 anos (p = 0,048). Os anaeróbios comuns foram Prevotella e Fusobacterium spp. A identificação de K. pneumoniae aumentou em pacientes idosos (idade > 65 anos) com razão de chances (Odds Ratio - OR) de 2,76 (p = 0,03) e diminuiu na estação do calor (temperatura média > 26 °C) (OR = 0,49, p = 0,04). Nenhum microrganismo específico foi associado à hospitalização prolongada. Conclusão: O patógeno mais comumente identificado através da cultura de secreção foi S. viridans, seguido por K. pneumoniae. A identificação de anaeróbios mostrou ter aumentado nos últimos anos. Os antibióticos selecionados inicialmente devem ser efetivos contra aeróbios e anaeróbios. A identificação bacteriana pode estar associada a fatores clínicos e fatores ambientais do hospedeiro.

Abstract Introduction: Peritonsillar abscess is the most common deep neck infection. The infectious microorganism may be different according to clinical factors. Objective: To identify the major causative pathogen of peritonsillar abscess and investigate the relationship between the causative pathogen, host clinical factors, and hospitalization duration. Methods: This retrospective study included 415 hospitalized patients diagnosed with peritonsillar abscess who were admitted to a tertiary medical center from June 1990 to June 2013. We collected data by chart review and analyzed variables such as demographic characteristics, underlying systemic disease, smoking, alcoholism, betel nut chewing, bacteriology, and hospitalization duration. Results: A total of 168 patients had positive results for pathogen isolation. Streptococcus viridans (28.57%) and Klebsiella pneumoniae (23.21%) were the most common microorganisms identified through pus culturing. The isolation rate of anaerobes increased to 49.35% in the recent 6 years (p = 0.048). Common anaerobes were Prevotella and Fusobacterium spp. The identification of K. pneumoniae increased among elderly patients (age > 65 years) with an odds ratio (OR) of 2.76 (p = 0.03), and decreased in the hot season (mean temperature > 26 °C) (OR = 0.49, p = 0.04). No specific microorganism was associated with prolonged hospital stay. Conclusion: The most common pathogen identified through pus culturing was S. viridans, followed by K. pneumoniae. The identification of anaerobes was shown to increase in recent years. The antibiotics initially selected should be effective against both aerobes and anaerobes. Bacterial identification may be associated with host clinical factors and environmental factors.

Abstract This paper presents an antenna loaded with metamaterial to enhance its gain and directivity to improve the performance of a ground-penetrating radar system (GPR). We adjusted the parameters of the antenna to change its equivalent capacitance and inductance and applied an operating frequency of 0.5 GHz-1.2 GHz to create an ultra-wideband antenna. On the basis of this operating frequency, we also designed the corresponding negative permittivity and permeability materials to simulate a patch antenna and material in a 1 GHz frequency band. The high gain and directivity of the antenna loaded with single-negative material were verified by simulation. Compared to the original antenna, the maximum gain increased by 7 dB and its directivity was greatly improved.

Abstract Purpose: To evaluate the effect of transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) on tendon-to-bone reconstruction of rotator cuff tears. Methods: Seventy-two rat supraspinatus tendons were transected and reconstructed in situ. At 8 and 16 weeks, specimens of three groups; that is control, L-dose (low dose), and H-dose (high dose) were harvested and underwent a biomechanical test to evaluate the maximum load and stiffness values. Histology sections of the tendon-to-bone interface were identified by hematoxylin-eosin or Masson trichrome stain. Collagen type III was observed by picric acid sirius red staining under polarized light. The level of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) was measured by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. Results: Collagen type III of the H-dose group had a significant difference in histology structure compared with the L-dose group (P<0.05). The maximum load and stiffness decreased significantly in the control group compared with the values of the L-dose and H-dose groups. The stiffness among the three groups differed significantly at the same postoperative time (P<0.05). Interestingly, progressive reestablishment of collagen type III affected tendon-to-bone healing significantly in the later stages. Conclusion: The H-dose was associated with an increased collagen type III morphology stimulated by TGF-β1.

Successful reclamation of degraded mine land can contribute to recuperate the vegetation and soil carbon sequestration. In this study, soil carbon pool was assessed in a mining land after short-term reclamation. We measured above- and belowground biomass and soil carbon storage of artificial grassland (Astragalus adsurgens and Medicago sativa), which was established in the reclamation of mining land. The results showed that artificial grassland establishment significantly increased above- and belowground biomass after four-year restoration. Artificial grassland establishment increased soil inorganic and organic carbon content and storage. Soil organic and inorganic carbon content showed a positive increasing along the restoration time. Higher SOC and lower soil bulk density and water content all were attributed to the growth of artificial grassland. These results suggest that establishing artificial grassland with legumes is an effective restoration approach for improving soil carbon pool in the reclaimed mine soils.
